I laughed, but I can't honestly say I agree with most of it, not because I'm a GWB fan, but because I think the elements involved in at least the NOLA situation are far too complex to be laid at the feet of George Bush alone.

Its convenient to attack him, and trendy to hate him, but there's an entire laundry list of people who should be hung out to dry....and unfortunately, most reporting on these issues is *very* charged. Its hard to get a picture of the real situation, and you can only usually find it if you go looking.

(And for the record--Herbert Hoover wasn't a shitty President.)

I'll agree that there are more people than him that need to be held accountable. But that fact does not make him exempt. I'll also say that I disliked him for President long before it was trendy to do so, and he's underperformed beyond my worst fears.

Also, Hoover the man was a very different thing from Hoover the President. As an engineer, as a private citizen, even as a non-Presidential public official, he was strong, concerned, and very capable -- far more so than Bush, I might add. But his Presidency was a different issue, and he made mistakes during it that had lingering and pernicious consequences. Certainly not a successful Presidency.
