Every December Sky
Every December sky
Must lose its faith in leaves
And dream of the spring inside the trees.
How heavy the empty heart,
How light the heart that's full.
Sometimes I have to trust what I can't know
Sometimes I have to trust what I can't know
We walk into Paradise;
The angels lend us shoes.
'Cause all that we own,
We'll come to lose,
And Heaven is not so far
Outside this womb of words.
With every rose that blooms
My soul is assured
It's just like a song I've known
Yet still unheard.
And every leaf of fire lets go,
Melting in the arms of earth and snow.
And if I could hold you now,
You'd enter like a sigh.
You'd be the wind that blows
The answer to "why?"
You'd be the spring-filled trees
Of every December sky.
Every December Sky
Every December sky
Must lose its faith in leaves
And dream of the spring inside the trees.
How heavy the empty heart,
How light the heart that's full.
Sometimes I have to trust what I can't know

Dancer to the Drum - Beth Nielsen Chapman
Nov. 23rd, 2002 02:45 pmFast asleep in the dawn of ages
The soul of every child
Has waited to be born a stranger
Underneath the drum of his mother's heart
Lying deep in a dream of darkness
Where fear has never gone
Each spark of a life is started
Blind and pure to the world we come
Blind and pure to the world we come
Each of us a dancer to the drum
Each of us a dancer to the drum
Blind and pure we come
One is born into a life of hunger
One will be a king or a rich man's son
One will kill out of greed or anger
One will give his life for another one
There are smiles in the lies of innocence
There are blooms in the walls of stone
And we will see ourselves
In the eyes of everyone we have ever known
Everyone we have ever known
And the heart, the heart will ever be a witness
And precious time, no treasure is worth
And the child, the child will carry our existence
Through the days that we have on earth
Each of us a dancer to the drum
Each of us a dancer to the drum
Blind and pure we come
Fast asleep in the dawn of ages
The soul of every child
Has waited to be born a stranger
Underneath the drum of his mother's heart

Nov. 23rd, 2002 01:50 pmA song I do love... more now than ever because it's become a theme song in my mind for my never-boring relationship with someone who's going to be a part of me until they dspose of my corpse. And yes, I am on a music kick and even a bit of an oldies kick today... some of the songs I'm listening to, my sibs aren't even expected to know because they were so much before their (our) time. But that's what happens when you grow up with a mother who had the best singing voice I'd ever heard before she took up smoking a pack-and-a-half a day. This isn't one of the old ones, but it's amazing anyway.
( Lyrics here. )
I have to.
Beth says: ...to believe is to manifest, and in spite of all we must grieve, there is incredible hope and beauty in life.
Life gives us magic
And life brings us tragedy
Everyone suffers some loss
Still we have faith in it
Childlike hope
There's a reason that outweighs the cost
And gravity throws all these rules in our way
And sometimes the spirit refuses to play
Only the ones who believe
Ever see what they dream
Ever dream what comes true
-- The Color of Roses.

Jul. 24th, 2002 02:39 amEnya - Wild Child
Ever close your eyes?
Ever stop and listen?
Ever feel alive?
And you've nothing missing.
You don't need a reason;
Let the day go on and on.
Let the rain fall down
Everywhere around you.
Give into it now;
Let the day surround you.
You don't need a reason;
Let the rain go on and on.
What a day, what a day to take to
What a way, what a way to make it through
What a day, what a day to take to a wild child
Only take the time
From the helter skelter.
Every day you find
Everything's in kilter.
You don't need a reason;
Let the day go on and on.
Every summer sun,
Every winter evening.
Every spring to come,
Every autumn leaving.
You don't need a reason;
Let it all go on and on.
What a day, what a day to take to
What a way, what a way to make it through
What a day, what a day to take to a wild child
What a day, what a day to take to
What a way, what a way to make it through
What a day, what a day to take to a wild child
What a day, what a day to take to
What a way, what a way to make it through
What a day, what a day to take to
Da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da
What a way, what a way to make it through
Da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da

Jun. 30th, 2002 09:28 pmThe Human Touch
- Joe Jackson
Some say the world is spinning faster
Some say it isn't fast enough
Some people say they've got the answer
and some are scared to say they can't keep up
I read the paper but it still isn't clear
The bombs are falling but I'm still here
I know all the figures and I know all the facts
But all I can do is keep trying . . . .
To look for the human touch
Life is hard when you've got nothing
Life can be hard when you've got too much
Sometimes I wonder what's the difference
It's only better with someone to touch
I got the telephone stuck to my ear
I keep yelling but you don't hear
In all the universe I'm just a speck of dust
But all I can do is keep trying . . . .
To give you the human touch
You know we're nothing in the scheme of things
Just microchips in big machines
And the world is spinning round and round
but I know that we can slow it down
And I know that I can make you see
I'm on the side of you and me
and all I want to do
listen to me . . .
Is give you . . . give you
Give you the human touch
