There are two fruit-shampoo-scented cats frantically grooming themselves in the corner by the heater right now.

They are still half-wet, and too pathetic even to glare... much.  And the fact that I am not only responsible for their baths but laughing at them makes me evil.



And when they're dry? Then comes the Allerpet. ;)

It also makes you completely nuts! in 35 years of living with cats, I've only given baths to cats twice. The first time, the cat got outside and got covered with mud, and the second time, one of the boys, white from the legs down, stepped in green finger paint. In both cases, I felt fortunate to get out of the experience without major or life-threatening injuries.

But cat saliva makes me less able to breathe. ;) Removing the buildup is occasionally a Good Thing. ;)

I've had boyfriends who have been allergic to my cats, and when it's been a problem, I've damp-mopped the kitty -- a once over with a damp washcloth, several times a week. It's helped and doesn't leave the scars of full immersion baths, but your level of allergies might require a more drastic approach.

Someone on my Friends list has done this and notes to beware the clumping litter while the kitties are still wet...because it turns to mud and then hardens...and then you have to go through it all over again!
