I just want to make sure I say out loud -- every day is friends amnesty day with me. If you're holding on because you think I'll be hurt, or react badly, or you think it's not polite, let go. For my sake, as much as for your own. The only people I want reading this thing are the ones who want to be reading it. I will probably not even drop you -- most often, I don't. I added you to my list because I want to know what's happening in your life, and that won't change.

I am always amazed when people make statements like yours, because I assume it goes without saying. Then I hear from people who get disturbed emails from folks whose LJs are no longer someone's daily read, and I am reminded that not everyone feels that way.

Yes...yes, I wish everyone felt the same way! There's one person (definitely not you) that I keep on my friends list for politics' sake...

Sadly, I find that I have a hard time commenting on other people's posts unless something really touches a personal memory/nerve--I feel badly about not being an adequate participant sometimes, but it almost feels worse to make a stupid/unthought-out comment than to not comment at all.

I enjoy reading your journal--I just wish I had more advice to offer :)

*smiles.* thank you. and I do understand -- there are only so many times you can *hug* someone and offer nothing beside it, and not feel foolish and like you're wasting both your time and theirs. I don't mind silence, and I'm not generally given to wondering if anyone's listening/reading, perhaps because I'm blessed enough to have a few close friends who let me know they are. I feel the same way about your journal, though -- even though I do know, more often than not, where you're coming from, it feels like I haven't anything to offer. I mean, I haven't figured out my own life, y'know?
