So here's how it goes: I ripped out all the utter crap I wrote into Godseed last November. And I decided to put in some real work on it again. Today, three days before deadline, half the story reads smoothly. I have to concentrate on filling the gaps on the next half -- but it's the fun bits, mostly, and should go quickly.

What I will not have time to do, is give myself enough of a break from writing it to distance myself and re-read it objectively and critically. [livejournal.com profile] heronblue did a lovely job on editing earlier, and I revised according to what she saw yesterday, and I feel it's better for it. But I cannot be sure, and there's always something that could be better.

I need critical eyes and detailed opinions from people who have the time to read something that's a little short of 30,000 words. Keeping in mind that after the point where the child gets found, it degenerates quickly into disconnected scenes. Those are what I'll be trying to fill the spaces between, today and the next couple of days. The story is here.

Any takers?

sorry no can do, but goodluck. I'm just over the 30k mark myself. with no hope of writing anything worth reading, but my output has at least increased in magnitude the last few days. :/

I'm actually very good at ripping writing to organized shreds... however, I'm running around like a chicken short a couple heads and will be until finals are over with in December. It takes me a long while to edit something, because I get really detail oriented, so there's just no way for me to devote that much time until the rush is over. However, if you want, I'll be happy to do it then.

I'll be glad to read it, though editing it may take some work.

I'll try to.
