Choose the path that suits you; I will travel the one I have seen, in quiet midnights, behind the closed shutters to my windows on the world. In the end, we arrive together. In truth, we are never apart.

Thank you for the inspiration. I haven't done enough real writing lately, and this did not come easily. I've grown too accustomed to having it come easily. I'm spoiled. ;) I'm glad you found something in it to which you could respond.

You are more than welcome for the inspiration. I was needing it myself, and found the 'hundred words' community. It sparked my interest, I love it that the words are so measured. I can spout off my head, too many words. Pare down, reconsidering. It takes work, which makes the pleasure far more sweet. One thing led to another, and the sudden burst of inspiration, a photo. I find myself comparing mine to the ones that follow, I feel dreadfully inadequate. Mine was merely jutting from my mind, no theme. Such is the beauty of the underwhelmed.

But the wine glass in my hand is cool and filled with a delicious zinfandel, I've had the house to myself for the last couple of hours, and I am simply too mellow to ramble on about feminine lack of self-esteem tonight. I'll save the threat for later, and just wish you a happy Valentine's Day.

I have no lack of self-esteem, to be honest. None at all, let me assure you. I tend to downplay myself more out of humility and regard for others than because I do not like myself. On the contrary, I am comfortable in my skin and who I am. And, with that strength, willing to change for the better.
