I could have one wish, and one wish only, I would want a perfect day. You know the kind I mean... the one you hold on to forever. One single perfect memory, twenty-four hours of bliss. What would I do in it? I'm not sure. Perhaps...
Dancing on silver sands,
Spindrift-light, bathed in moonlight.
Feel each grain beneath my soles,
Feel both anchored and set free..
In that space where worlds meet,
Overlap, embrace...
Cast myself upon the winds,
Aloft, alive...
Remind myself that I, too,
Was born to soar.
Count stars until
I feel myself glowing...
Smile until it hurts,
Until I'm sated on joy.
Taste my children's laughter,
Fall into the love in innocent eyes,
And then find myself innocent anew...
Explore, like any child...
Find myself a cavern,
Burrow myself into my Mother's bones,
And, leaving part of my heart behind me,
Emerge, clean, into the light.
Or... lay down the burdens, all,
And slip softly, lightly, into peace.
