May. 21st, 2002 05:52 pmBeen a quiet day, spent trying to shake a bad mood that settled in this morning. I might write more later, but probably not - I've had trouble finding words with my out loud voice these last days, and it doesn't look like that's changing. So instead I'm playing with UltraFractal again. Blame Dougie for this one - he told me the song title, and it was the first thing that came to mind when I was casting about for a concept.

... and other news from the easier-said-than-done department...

You dwell excessively on past memories, particularly the bad ones. You blame yourself for your faults, and fear being a bad person. You can be delusional and paranoid, yet hide these things from others and bury your feelings deep, where you can revive them to dwell on them later. You need to stop dwelling on the past, and look to the future.

Date: 2002-05-21 04:04 pm (UTC)I can just barely begin to understand the descriptive file.... I understand center x/y and magnitude... don't grok angle mathematically though I suppose it's angle out of the plane somehow... then there's formula, inside, and outside... which each are linked to a file... it seems like the "entry" would actually BE the formula for the inside, and the formula for the outside... but then I don't get what the forumula is...

Date: 2002-05-21 04:53 pm (UTC)The image has two layers, identical except for colouring. Yes, it does actually use more than one formula applied to the original fractal. No, I don't understand it any more than you do - in fact, you probably have a better grasp of the math than I do - thank god for the GUI, is all I can say.
Oh, and yes, I will, if you like, help with the alpha testing - I can produce much less complicated images than this one, if that's what you need. :)

Date: 2002-05-21 10:19 pm (UTC)You have high standards for yourself, and try desperately to live up to them. But when you are unable to reach those goals, you fall into a deep depression. People see you as a brilliant person, yet inside, you are full of self-doubt and fear of failure. You need to set more reasonable goals.

Date: 2002-05-22 05:43 am (UTC)You are a dreamer. Constantly filling your mind with fantasies, you withdraw inside yourself in order to experience these more clearly. You dislike people and the distractions they cause. You are eccentric and lack a firm grasp on reality. You experience a wide range of emotions, and can often times be dangerous to yourself and others. You need to focus more on the real world.

And it is a cool song. My new favorite Macy Gray tune, although I haven't heard the original yet - just the Morello Mix (thats right folks, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine remixing Macy Gray)
