Mar. 21st, 2002 10:48 amThere are people who are central to my life; solid and dependable... even given their varied natures. And then there are others, the ones who show up every now and again, generally just when I need a lesson or a break or just a smile. They pass through like soft breezes, ruffling my hair, whispering solace... and I don't know if they ever realise just how much changes, because of the slight contact.
That group includes two of the most talented people with whom I've had the pleasure of corresponding, and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you, though I don't know if they'll ever see it... and also to make a recommendation to all of you, the other people who matter to me, because I think you won't regret time spent exploring their writings.
So, thank you, John, and thanks also to Denis. For lightning-quick inspirations, and much-needed smiles, and for the privilege of sharing your time and thoughts, however infrequently.
