I took that to mean too human-like, possibly lacking in tentacles, and too thoroughly clothed. While the hero machine does have its limits, I rather liked this result, too.
Now for serious stuff. I did not do a stellar job today.. but the employer says not to give up, 'cause he's impressed with everything except my typing and it is low-pressure enough that he might still train me. Note that he's more optimistic than I.. is this a good thing?
Also, he really did mean typing... an antique typewriter, not even a correction ribbon. He has a computer, but doesn't use it much.. what a waste. I think I did manage to impress him when I pulled up Word and started fitting together a template for the form he wanted me to fill in on the typewriter. And since I have one of the forms, I intend to finish that template tonight and give it to him tomorrow, whether he hires me or not.
I liked the place, despite my fears and anxieties... it's a small, intimate setting, and the other lady there seemed peppery but likeable. The phones aren't high-volume at all, and he proposed a starting salary of $10/hr, with "a few dollars more in a couple of weeks, once you know the business." So.. still keep your fingers crossed, I'm not home free yet, but it doesn't look hopeless.
