I certainly hope it's a lovely one. :)

Next, about Christmas. I wanted to do something more than cards for most of you. I also wanted to not spend months and thousands looking for just the perfect gift, though. Some of you would be easy to shop for. Others I don't really know well enough yet. Me being me... I wanted to fix that. So, here's the idea. I'm asking for songs that mean something to you, that say something to you and for you. As many as I can find, plus some selections of my own, of course, will be randomly selected and put on CDs, and everyone will get a different CD. If you find nothing on there you like, then you will at least have heard something you may not have heard before, and you will have my card and the knowledge that you are in my thoughts. If you find something that speaks to you, though, then the fun begins -- because you can ask me who it's from, and I may have the pleasure of introducing you to a new friend. And I'll send them another CD with the other songs you picked, and you another CD with their selections. In the interest of not having three or four people whom everyone queries or songs everyone's already sick of hearing, though, here are the rules, such as they are.

• No Christmas carols, please.
  
• Nothing from the top forty this year.
  
• The more heartfelt, the better. If it makes you feel you're exposing yourself and your deepest feelings to have anyone know this song comes from you, then that's the song I'd like you to send. I do know you well enough to say with certainty that I've been blessed to know you. I want to know you better -- and I don't believe I'm alone in this. The poll below is the master list for the suggestions. No-one can see the answers, of course, but me. Thanks for playing along. :)
